This series is inspired by my June 6, 2009 Swim Around Key West. My team and I came in last place - but we finished! When I was swimming, I kept seeing these beautiful sponges of various shapes and sizes, and I loved how absolutely organic they were. This gave me the idea to press actual sponges into the clay for the rough texture on the outside, yet still keeping the inside smooth so it is functional. After the sponge is pressed into the wet clay, I alter each bowl for an organic shape.
This is my very first limited edition series ever! Each bowl is signed and numbered and bowls will be released in sets of ten for a total number of 50. Sub-sequential releases will feature various color combinations. Below is currently what is in stock.
