Sgraffito
Meet Sgraffito, (pronounced sgra-feeto) my new series. Sgraffito is a decorative technique where a layer of colored slip is painted over the pot during the leather hard stage. The design is then carved away leaving the color of the clay body exposed beneath. My inspirations for these pieces come from nature, fabrics, wall paper and wrapping paper. These pieces are food safe and microwave and dishwasher safe.
